Get ready to scramble and have a fun-filled family day out in the city at Sydney Family Show‘s Easter Basket Scramble – one of the city’s best Easter scavenger hunts – which returns to The Grand Pavilion at The Entertainment Quarter in Moore Park after two successful years. With their tickets, Easter egg hunters receive an Easter egg basket and chocolate eggs and toys, and can collect treats from the Egg-stations located within the show ring. Visitors who aren’t doing the egg hunt can choose to participate in carnival games and rides, such as dodgem cars and spinning teacups, visit the animal nursery, and much more.
Glenworth Valley’s Giant Easter Egg Show

Prepare for a family-friendly day of fun at Glenworth Valley’s Giant Easter Egg Show, a scenic one-hour drive from Sydney. Children up to 16 years can take part in the search for their share of 25,000 chocolate Easter eggs. Keep an eye out for the Easter bunny who’ll be hopping around the picturesque grounds keeping kids entertained. There’ll also be lead horse riding, an onsite bouncy castle, and plenty of activities for older kids to enjoy on the day. While the young Easter egg hunt participants are looking for their chocolate treasures, you can treat yourself to food and drinks from the food-truck vendors.
Vision Australia Easter Egg Hunt at Bendigo Easter Festival

Accessibility: This year will see an additional all-accessible Easter egg hunt held for children with disabilities at 9.40am before the park gets too busy. The festival will also have fully accessible toilets and parking and a sensory-friendly quiet space.

This Easter egg hunt is a great excuse to have fun and give back as it’s a major fundraiser for Vision Australia. Bendigo’s sprawling Rosalind Park will host an Easter egg hunt with 80,000 eggs hidden in non-allergenic and wood-wool, to be found by an estimated 3,000 children. The hunt will be organised for separate age groups at various time slots throughout the day, so everyone will get a chance to participate in the search.
Visitors above the age of 18 will have a chance to participate in a blindfolded Easter egg hunt from 5pm. While you wait for your turn to collect some eggs, you can take in the sights and sounds of the festival, including carnival rides, shopping at the Rotary market, live entertainment, and many more activities.
Melbourne’s Biggest Easter Hunt at Melbourne Easter Show

If you’re in Melbourne this Easter weekend and looking for an epic Easter egg hunt and exciting activities for everyone, why not take a short drive to Dromana Estate Winery for a spectacular day at the Melbourne Easter Show? Touted as the biggest in Melbourne, this Easter egg hunt’s title isn’t an exaggeration, with more than 50,000 hollow plastic eggs waiting to be discovered. What’s more, children that find a specially marked egg will receive an additional prize from the Easter bunny.
Once the Easter egg hunt is finished, each child will swap their collected eggs to receive a pre-packaged bag of Easter eggs. The Easter egg hunt will be split up into several sessions per day based on children’s age groups.
Redcliffe Markets Easter pop up 2023

Easter egg hunting fun comes to the Redcliffe Peninsula just 40 minutes north of Brisbane at the Redcliffe Market on Good Friday. Each Easter egg hunter will receive a basket to collect their eggs and other prizes found along the way. Expect a visit from the Easter bunny, an abundance of chocolate, holiday craft activities, and local live entertainment. The 75th Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race will be taking place at the same time, so you can watch the boats take off from the foreshore in between bites of hot cross buns, shopping, and hunting for eggs.
The Big Bunny Hop Easter Egg Hunt

Unlike many of the others on this list, this family-friendly Easter egg hunt will be held the weekend before Easter, rather than on the long weekend, at the Floreat Forum shopping centre just 15 minutes from central Perth. It’s a wonderful opportunity for children to enjoy an Easter egg hunt, face painting, and meeting the Easter bunny with friends. Although this event is free of charge, space is limited, and booking is essential. As this is for children only, you’ll only need to book your child’s spot. On the day of the Easter egg hunt, they’ll get to take home a 100g chocolate egg and an activity pack to keep the fun going.
aMAZEing Easter Egg Hunt

As far as Easter egg hunt locations go, few things are as refreshing as time spent in wine country, and the aMAZEing Easter Egg Hunt at Ubertas Wines, an hour outside Adelaide, is the ideal excuse for a day trip to the Barossa Valley. One of the most exciting things about this hunt is that it’ll take place in the famous Barossa Maze. Up for grabs, there’ll also be a golden egg representing a special bonus prize hidden somewhere in the maze.
This event brings relaxation and fun to the forefront, with visitors encouraged to bring their own picnic rugs and snacks or to purchase wine and sharing platters from the cellar and sit in the garden while visitors under 10 hunt down their spoils.

If you’re looking to spend the long weekend out of town, a trip to Lightning Ridge, a small mining town in the northern part of New South Wales may be in order. The town’s Easter Festival features a wide range of exciting activities including carnival rides and fireworks, but the festival is mainly known for the rodeo-style Black Opal Bull and Bronc Ride and Lightning Ridge Race Club Horse Races. You can also expect thrilling helicopter rides, live music, market stalls, and a townwide treasure hunt.
National Folk Festival

Folk music lovers will flock to EPIC, Canberra over the Easter weekend to watch big name artists such as Billy Bragg, Charm of Finches, and The Waifs at the National Folk Festival. The festival is one of the longest running in the country and showcases amazing folk music and culture packed into the five days. Kids will have their own festival activities, from percussion and singing classes, songwriting and jam sessions, to parades and dance parties in the evening for the older children.
The National Folk Festival acknowledges the Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia, the Traditional Custodians where the festival is held, and the Ngunnawal people, and recognises their continuing connection and contribution to the land, waters, and communities.

- Generally mid-autumn is crisp with no rain, except for Sydney, but we suggest checking the weather forecast on the morning of your Easter egg hunt.
